Soundscape ecology

The methodological grounding for Biosphere Soundscapes revolves around the creative possibilities of Soundscape Ecology, a rapidly evolving field of biology where scientists record a given habitat and listen for patterns and changes to form an analysis of the health of the environment.

This page is currently underdevelopment but will soon include excerpts from a published research paper on Soundscape Ecology and Biosphere Reserves.

Biosphere Soundscapes is an interdisciplinary research project working in collaboration with multiple organisations and institutions across the USA, South America, Australia, Europe, India, Indonesia and Cambodia. The project was endorsed by the UNESCO MAB Program in 2013.
