MASTERCLASSES
The Biosphere Soundscapes masterclasses are one day intensive programs designed to engage with specific aspects of the biosphere reserve and tailored to specific community groups or organisations. Our masterclasses have been delivered by some of the major figures of sonic art including Francisco Lopez (Netherlands) and Andrea Polli (USA).
The overall Biosphere Soundscapes masterclass programs showcases the local and global value of biosphere reserves as learning laboratories for sustainability and highlight projects and innovative ideas uniting the conservation of biological and cultural diversity. These immersive experiences can also be delivered as lectures streamed live from this website or delivered in an academic context in universities across the world. In addition to showcasing Biosphere Soundscapes, the masterclass modules focus on local issues exploring community engagement, partnerships and projects, while the concluding modules focus on global issues and introduce opportunities for knowledge sharing, virtual collaborations and the future possibilities of creative technology in responding to climate change.
Our Biosphere Soundscapes masterclasses included the following programs in 2015-2016:
Our 2017 masterclasses will occur in Australia, Cambodia and India.
